Stay home and stagnant, or return to the office to get promoted!

74% of Australian employers believe chances of promotion rely significantly on people being present in the office.

This is much higher than the rest of the world, with Germany at 69% and France at a low 62%.

93% of organisations are now mobilising return-to-office programs, with at least 20% of employers reporting a full return.

The shift in employee priorities has been an outstanding trend in recent post-pandemic Work-from-Home (WFH) research.

Conversely, employers have benefited from access to a wider talent pool, both locally and globally.

Combined with technological advances such as AI and the gig economy, the landscape of knowledge work is transforming rapidly.

Whilst almost half of Australian professionals are willing to return to work to earn a promotion, almost one in five would pass on the promise of seniority to continue working remotely.

Gen X and Boomers are more likely to prefer flexibility than their Gen Z and Millenial counterparts. Some of this is because the older generations often care for aging parents, kids, and grandkids, a trend not seen before.
